New Moons and new beginnings
Today we welcomed a new moon. Next week we celebrate The Winter Solstice and we enter another moon on the Medicine Wheel walk. We say good-bye to the Long Snows Moon and welcome The Earth Renewal Moon.
As I reflect on the meaning of each of these as individuals and then as a collective, I'm shown the greater meaning of new beginnings and transformations. I look back and know that I've faltered in some areas of my life, however I've also made many accomplishments. Focusing on what I've achieved illuminates the transformations I've made within and through my inner strength I know that I am able to attain the goals I've set in the new season. I only have to have faith and trust that the universe is leading me in the right direction. I need not be in control.
May your path be illuminated with love, light and joy!

Raven
I've had a few encounters with Raven. Usually he follows me around on my hikes and laughs at me and teases me. The last time I was hiking, Raven landed in a tree and started his socializing with me. I'd talk with him and he'd laugh and move on to the next tree in front of me. We kept up the bantering until I reached an area where there were no trees close. Raven however flew high above and kept a watchful eye over me.
Last week I woke and was prompted to look out my window. There were about 30 Ravens gathered in the yard of the house across from me. I watched them intently for about an hour. Their behavior told me that something was not right. At one point, I viewed 5 Ravens positioned at the side yard and walking in formation towards the house. It was then I knew that death was imminent. My neighbor called me after about an hour and asked me to look out at all of the birds across the street and asked me what I thought. I shared that I did not think it was a good sign and left it at that.
Today, the M. E's office appeared at the house and unfortunately left with more than what they came with. My heart and prayers go out to the family.
Paying attention to the behaviors of the plants and animals has taught me a great deal about symbols and signs. And of course, the interpretations are all personal; meaning that what I see and feel may differ from what you read and feel. The point is that we need to be open to everything the universe is sharing with us. If we remain open minded, we will learn to communicate and listen more effectively in all areas of our life.
May your mind's eye be open to all that life is offering you!

The Beauty of Grandmother Moon
Grandmother moon smiled down on me this evening, illuminating my path before me as as I was running my last mile home. The pink mountainous landscape created a wonderful contrasting canvas against her full and beautiful white body.
I found my place of Empowerment and felt the connection with Grandmother Moon, Mother Earth and the four elements.
I was able to command my talents and effect what I wanted to achieve this evening through the elements around me;
Fire in the color of the mountains - granting me the passion to reach for my goals; air through the geese and ducks as they
took off in flight at sunset - telling me I have the ability to soar into my dreams; water in the Rio Grande - the blood line and flow of life through Mother Earth - reminding me to let go and go with the flow; and finally Mother Earth herself - reminding me to keep my feet on the ground to achieve balance.
May your path illuminate the beauty around you!
