True to Self - revisited

Last December I wrote the blog below and after reading this morning I realize that my intentions of seeking the light within have indeed helped not only clear out the sludge within but I noticed a dramatic change in how I was able to handle a not so positive situation. These bumps help wake me up to that inner light and I am grateful for all that happens.

There are times when we find ourselves trying to be someone we are not. Out of fear, we comply with this misguided perception and lose site of who we are and betray ourselves, diminishing the light within.

Last night, a dream spoke to me and showed me that my considerations of late would diminish my core light. For years I have worked on clearing out the sludge in order to find my inner peace and light.

At times like these, I need to sit quietly and go to that inner light - experiencing its source of strength and radiating out from within.

My mom & dad sent me a picture of my home town light house - a place I would often retreat to. I think I'll frame the picture, hang it in my office, and as I would a mandala, look to it to help me focus on my own beacon of light and strength.
